20210111 Town Meeting

The Mayor and Town Council of the Village of Harrisonburg met in Regular Session on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at the Village of Harrisonburg Town Hall.

Council Members Present: Mayor Tubre, Aldermen: Greg Terry and Judy Cotten, Absent: Arthurine Watson  

Also Present: Town Clerk: Patricia Hefner Town Attorney: Joey Boothe, Maintenance Operator: Billy Franklin Police Chief: Lyndell Atkins.

There being a quorum present, the Mayor called the meeting to order.

On a motion by Council Member Terry, seconded by Council Member Cotten, with all in favor, the Council approved the December meeting minutes as published.

On a motion by Council Member Cotten, seconded by Council Member Terry, with all in favor, the Council approved the December Budget, Account Transfers and Disbursements.

On a motion by Council Member Terry, seconded by Council Member Watson, with all in favor, the Council nominated Brad Bradley to represent Harrisonburg on the Catahoula Economic and Industrial Development Board.

On a motion by Council Member Terry, seconded by Council Member Cotton, with all in favor, the Council adopted Resolution 20210111 declaring notice of intention and applying to the state bond commission.

On a motion by Council Member Cotten, seconded by Council Member Terry, with all in favor, the Council adopted RESOLUTION # 20210111 CWEF 2020-2021 Water System Updates and Repairs. Authorizing the mayor to request a CWEF grant to update the SCADA system and make repairs to the village’s water system.

On a motion by Council Member Terry, seconded by Council Member Cotton, with all in favor, the Council adopted RESOLUTION # 20210111 LGAP  2020-2021 Equipment Purchase. Authorizing the mayor to request a LGAP grant to purchase equipment for the maintenance department.

On a motion by Council Member Terry, seconded by Council Member Cotton, with all in favor, the council voted to appoint Billy Franklin as Superintendent of the maintenance department.

On a motion by Council Member Terry, seconded by Council Member Cotton, with all in favor, the council voted to amend the agenda adding the discussion for the Debris Site Resolution.

On a motion by Council Member Cotten, seconded by Council Member Terry, with all in favor, the Council adjourned the meeting.
