20200210 Town Meeting

The Mayor and Town Council of the Village of Harrisonburg met in Regular Session on February 10th, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the Village of Harrisonburg Town Hall.

Council Members Present: Mayor: Michael Tubre, Aldermen: Greg Terry, and Arthurine Watson Absent: Judy Cotton. Also Present:  Town Clerk: Patricia Hefner, Town Attorney Joey Boothe, Gauthier, Robert Bradley and Beverly Nelson with the Harrisonburg Service League, Jack Breithaupt with Breithaupt Atelier, Dot Chapelle with Catahoula Economic Development, Kathy Ray with Senator Glen Womack’s Office, Superintendent Willie Fair, Billy Franklin and Lee Atkins with the Harrisonburg Maintenance Department and John Tiser.

There being a quorum present, the Mayor called the meeting to order.

On a motion by Council Member Terry, seconded by Council Member Watson, with all in favor, the Council approved February Meeting Minutes.

On a motion by Council Member Watson, seconded by Council Member Terry, with all in favor, the Council approved the Account Transfers and Disbursements.

On a motion by Terry, seconded by Watson, with all in favor, the Council adopted the MWPP Resolution in support of the 2019 Water Pollution Prevention Environmental Audit Report and set forth actions required to maintain permit requirements.

A presentation was given by Breithaupt Atelier (Architect, Jack Breithaupt) concerning Phase 1 of the Harrisonburg River Front Park. Phase 1 is the beginning of Harrisonburg’s Vision and Action Plan.

On a motion by Terry, seconded by Watson, with all in favor, the Council adopted a resolution in support of submitting a Louisiana Water Conservation matching fund and cost reimbursement Grant.

Dot Chappelle with Economic Development invited the citizens to join a meeting at the Catahoula Parish Police Jury meeting room on February 27, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. Chappelle has plans to organize a parish wide clean up day during this meeting.

On a motion by Council Member Terry, seconded by Council Member Watson, with all in favor, the Council adjourned the meeting.
