REGULAR TOWN MEETING

The Mayor and Council of the Village of Harrisonburg met in regular session on Monday, April 15, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Village of Harrisonburg Town Hall, 108 Sicily Street, Harrisonburg, Louisiana.
ROLL CALL / COUNCIL PRESENT
Present: Mayor Michael Tubre, Mayor Pro-Tem Greg Terry, Councilmember Judy Cotten, and Councilmember Blake Barbo.
Also present: Town Attorney Joey Boothe.
There being a quorum present, Mayor Michael Tubre called the meeting to order. Councilmember Blake Barbo gave the invocation, and Mayor Tubre led the Pledge of Allegiance.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A motion was made by Councilmember Cotten and seconded by Councilmember Terry to approve the March 2026 meeting minutes as published. The floor was opened for public comment. There being none, the motion was put to a vote. Motion carried unanimously.
FINANCIAL REPORTS
A motion was made by Mayor Pro-Tem Terry and seconded by Councilmember Cotten to accept the March 2026 financial reports, including transfers, disbursements, and budget report. The floor was opened for public comment. There being none, the motion was put to a vote. Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Fort Hill Enhancement Project and Facebook Page
The Council discussed the Fort Hill Enhancement Project and the creation of a Facebook page to provide updates and information to the public. The Council will nominate a committee to oversee the park and establish a system to manage related donations.
Harrisonburg Heritage Festival – April 25
Discussion was held regarding preparations for the Harrisonburg Heritage Festival scheduled for April 25. Updates included the completion of the Steamboat Park project and the installation of the stage.
Concern was expressed regarding wheeled vehicles driving on the newly planted grass and walking path. It was agreed that all food trucks should park outside the gate in the designated parking area between the sheriff’s office and Steamboat Park.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Michael Tubre opened the floor for public comment. There being no further business to come before the Council, a motion to adjourn was made by Councilmember Barbo and seconded by Councilmember Cotten at 6:50 p.m. The motion was put to a vote. Motion carried unanimously.
