REGULAR TOWN MEETING 20251113

Mayor Michael Tubre and the Council of the Village of Harrisonburg, Louisiana, met in regular session on Thursday, November 11, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Village of Harrisonburg Town Hall, 108 Sicily Street, Harrisonburg, Louisiana.

Council Present: Mayor Michael Tubre, Mayor Pro-Tem Greg Terry, and Councilmember Judy Cotton.

There being a quorum present, Mayor Tubre called the meeting to order.

Mayor Tubre gave the invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

A motion was made by Councilmember Cotten and seconded by Councilmember Terry to accept the October, 13, 2025, meeting minutes as published. The floor was opened for public comment. On vote, the motion carried.

A motion was made by Councilmember Terry and seconded by Councilmember Cotten to accept the October 2025 financial reports: transfers, disbursements, and budget report. The floor was opened for public comment. On vote, the motion carried.

Mayor Tubre opened the floor for public comment.

Councilmember Cotton announced that Christmas decorations are currently being installed and that donations are still being accepted. The Town has spent $8,623.23 on the purchase of pole decorations this year and has received $800.00 in donations to date.

Mayor Tubre also informed the Council that he has requested quotes for Town Hall siding, noting that the current paint is flaking and outdated. Quotes will include three options:

  1. Scrape and repaint
  2. Install vinyl siding
  3. Install LP Smart Siding

Mayor Tubre requested the formation of a Harrisonburg Ballfield Committee, consisting of five members, to oversee the ballfield. The members include Robert Bradley, White, White

The Harrisonburg Christmas Parade will be held on Friday, December 19th. Parade line-up will be any time before 5:00 p.m., the road will close at 5:25 p.m., and the parade will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m.

Community Clean-Up Initiative: The Village of Harrisonburg continues to encourage all residents to take pride in their community by cleaning up around their property.

There being no further business to come before the Council, a motion to adjourn was made by Councilmember Cotten and seconded by Councilmember Terry at 6:39 p.m. On vote, motion carried.
