PUBLIC NOTICE
VILLAGE OF HARRISONBURG

The following Ordinance, having been introduced on May 10th, 2021 will be laid over with a public hearing on June 14th, 2021 at 5:40 PM and will be offered for adoption on June 14th at 6:00 PM.

AN ORDINANCE SETTING THE SALARIES OF ELECTED OFFICIALS AND PROVIDING FOR RELATED MATTERS.

Be it ordained by the Board of Aldermen of the Village of Harrisonburg, in legal session convened, Ordinance No. 20210614 is hereby enacted to read as follows.

 PART (1.) REGULAR MEETINGS:

Meeting of the board of aldermen shall be held in accordance with R.S. 33:405 on the second Monday of each month at 6:00 P.M in the town hall.

PART (2) COMPENSATION AND BONDS OF ELECTED OFFICIALS:

  1. Mayor: The annual compensation shall be $9600.00 per year. One-twelfth of the annual compensation shall be paid once a month.

  2. Aldermen: The annual compensation shall be $4800.00 per year. One-twelfth of the annual compensation shall be paid once a month.

  3. Chief of Police: The compensation shall be a salary of $1250.40 bi-weekly.

PART (3) PROVISIONS:

Be it further ordained that if any provision of this Ordinance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions, items or application of this Ordinance, which can be given effect without the invalid provisions, items or application, and to this end the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby declared severable.

PART (4) ORDINANCE 20080310 repealed.

Be it further ordained that all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed.

Said Ordinance having been introduced on the 10th day of May 2021, by notice of Public Hearing having been published on the 12th day of May, 2021, said Public Hearing having been held, title having been read and Ordinance considered, on a motion by _______seconded by _________to adopt the ordinance. A record vote was taken and the following result was had:

Whereupon, the Mayor declared the above Ordinance duly adopted on the 14th day of June, 2021.

This ordinance is effective as of June 14th, 2021 PASSED AND APPROVED.
