The mayor called a Public Hearing at 8:30 a.m. on August 27th, 2021 to allow comments and obtain views on
the housing and community development needs of the Village of Harrisonburg and to discuss the submission of an application for funding under the State of Louisiana Community Development Block Grant – Coronavirus (LCDBG-CV) Love Louisiana Outdoors Program.
Council Members Present: Mayor: Michael Tubre, Aldermen: Greg Terry, Arthurine Watson
After a brief discussion concerning the maximum funds available through the LCDBG-CV Love Louisiana Outdoors Program, the range of activities available through the program and the benefits of LCDBG projects to our community, Mayor Tubre opened the floor for discussion.
Community members agreed the use of these funds would help cover a portion of expenses for the proposed Riverfront Park Project located in Phase 1 of the village’s (Harrisonburg, Vision and Action Plan) adopted on March 09, 2020.
The council discussed the use of funding from the village’s recreation account, which would allow coverage for excess expenses not included in the LDCBG-CV funding splashpad project.
With no further comments or concerns being brought forward, Council member Terry, made a motion, seconded by Council Member Watson, with all in favor to adjourn.
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and exact copy of the public hearing minutes adopted at the board meeting held on 13th day of September, 2021, at which meeting a quorum was present and voting.
