VILLAGE OF HARRISONBURG REGULAR TOWN MEETING

The mayor and town council of the Village of Harrisonburg met in Regular Session on Monday, May 9th , 2022 at 6:10 p.m. at the Village of Harrisonburg Town Hall.
Council Members Present: Mayor Michael Tubre, Council members: Greg Terry, Judy Cotten, and Arthurine Watson
There being a quorum present, the mayor called the meeting to order.
On a motion by Council Member Cotten, seconded by Council Member Watson, with all in favor, the Council approved April meeting minutes.
On a motion by Council Member Watson, seconded by Council Member Cotten, with all in favor, the Council approved May Account Transfers, Disbursements and Budget Reports.
On a motion by Council Member Terry, seconded by Council Member Watson, with all in favor, the Council voted to adopt Resolution 20220509, finding and determining that a public hearing has been held and that no petition has been filed objecting to the proposed issuance by the Village of Harrisonburg Taxable Revenue Bonds.
On a motion by Council Member Terry, seconded by Council Member Watson, with all in favor, the Council voted to adopt the Sensory Impairments Resolution, a policy statement for communication information to persons with sensory impairments.
On a motion by Council Member Cotten, seconded by Council Member Watson, with all in favor, the Council voted to adopt the Grievance Procedure Resolution, stating that no qualified handicapped individual shall solely by reason of his handicap be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination.
On a motion by Council Member Watson, seconded by Council Member Cotten, with all in favor, the Council voted to adopt the Language Access Plan, to inform its citizens who may not understand or speak English.
On a motion by Council Member Terry, seconded by Council Member Watson, with all in favor, the Council voted to adopt the LCDBG Management Resolution, establishing financial duties and compliance monitoring responsibilities.
On a motion by Council Member Terry, seconded by Council Member Cotten, with all in favor, the Council voted to Introduce and Ordinance Authorizing the incurring of debt and issuance of taxable water revenue bond series 2022, in the amount not to exceed $3,500,000., by the Village of Harrisonburg, State of Louisiana, and providing for other matters in connection therewith.
Town Clerk, Patricia Hefner discussed Gas Awareness and the importance of the publications, emergency responder materials and the Village’s ongoing efforts to the Gas Safety and Awareness Plan.
On a motion by Council Member Cotten, seconded by Council Member Watson, with all in favor, the Council adjourned the meeting.
