The mayor and town council of the Village of Harrisonburg met in Session on Monday, March 13th, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at the Village of Harrisonburg Town Hall.
Members Present: Mayor Michael Tubre, Council members: Greg Terry, Judy Cotten and Blake Barbo. There being a quorum present, the mayor called the meeting to order.
Mayor Tubre opened the floor to David Vercher to allow a presentation of the Village of Harrisonburg June 2022 year end audit.
On a motion by Council Member Cotten, seconded by Council Member Terry, with all in favor, the Council approved January meeting minutes as published.
On a motion by Council Member Terry, seconded by Council Member Cotten, with all in favor, the Council approved January account transfers and budget items.
On a motion by Council Member Cotten, seconded by Council Member Barbo, with all in favor, the Council approved February account transfers and budget items.
On a motion by Council Member Terry, seconded by Council Member Barbo, with all in favor, the Council Adopted the 2023 MWPP Resolution.
Mayor Tubre opened the floor to allow David Squires to speak on behalf of the Sandy Lake Fire Department.
Mayor Tubre discussed the possibilities of building a ball field at the Harrisonburg Walking Track. He stated that White’s T & J Oilfield Supply has volunteered to cover expenses in the construction of this ball field for Harrisonburg and the surrounding community. Tubre opened the floor to receive comments from the council and public.
The Harrisonburg Service League announced the 100th Anniversary Celebration on April 15th. Celebrating the most recent Incorporation of the Village of Harrisonburg. Plans are set have a children’s carnival, car show, quilt display, library photo exhibit, vendor’s will be on-site, along with a blood drive and T-shirt’s available to purchase. Along with several other activities.
On a motion by Council Member Terry, seconded by Council Member Cotten, with all in favor, the Council adjourned the meeting.
