The Village of Harrisonburg has been awarded a $300,000 grant through Land and Water Conservation Fund to develop a park and recreation area on the waterfront of Harrisonburg. This grant is part of a federal matching program administered by the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, Office of State Park, Division of Outdoor Recreation. The grant will reimburse 50% of the monies invested by the town up to $300,000 dollars for a potential $600,000 budget. To take full advantage of this opportunity to provide a first-class resource for our community and an attraction to bring new tourism to our town, we need sponsors and donors to the Steamboat Park Fund.
